Join us for an educational two-day patient and family conference featuring expert speakers, interactive opportunities between patients and clinicians, and meaningful moments of connection and sharing with others impacted by cavernous malformation.

Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes! The Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning is wheelchair accessible. Cavernous Malformation Canada is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment for all attendees.

Q: Will the Conference be offered in both English and French?

A: While Cavernous Malformation Canada will make every effort to organize a bilingual event, some elements may be English-only.

Q: Can I bring my child to the Conference?

A: The conference is appropriate for people aged 14 and older. Child care will not be provided on site. 

Q: Is there another event happening at the same time as the conference?

A: Yes! Cavernous Malformation Canada is also hosting a Clinical and Scientific Symposium at the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning on September 18-19, 2026 to support ongoing research and nurture the medical community that supports patients diagnosed with cavernous malformation. We are planning opportunities for attendees to both the Conference and the Symposium to interact and hear from one another.

Q: What is the refund policy on event registration?

A: There are no refunds for registration, however, transfer of registration to another person can be arranged. Please contact admin@cavernousmalformation.ca by no later than September 10, 2026 to transfer your registration.

Cavernous Malformation Canada

Cavernous Malformation Canada (CMC) is a 100% volunteer-led charitable organization focused on supporting those affected by cavernous malformation, raising awareness, and finding a cure. 

Cavernous Malformation is a rare disease affecting approximately 1 in 500 people. A cavernous malformation is a vascular lesion containing a cluster of small blood vessels with thin, leaky walls, typically found in the brain and spinal cord.

CMC Scientific & Clinical Advisory Board

Our Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board reviews all scientific and clinical information on our CMC website (www.cavernousmalformation.ca). The Board is currently comprised of:
