About the symposium
Hosted by the driven team at Cavernous Malformation Canada (CMC) and their Clinical and Scientific Advisory Board, the 2026 Cavernous Malformation Clinical and Scientific Symposium will be informative not only for the experienced but also those early in their understanding of this disease. At this inaugural event, we hope to create a tradition of connecting clinicians, scientists, allied health professionals, and other key brilliant minds, in a uniquely Canadian forum. Together we connect, discover and debate the latest basic and clinical science, the most challenging aspects of clinical care, and symptom management strategies. We formulate the road ahead and build future collaborations. This Symposium is the go-to event for Canada's community working in cavernous malformation, and its related symptomology and effects.

Cavernous Malformation Canada
Cavernous Malformation Canada (CMC) is a national registered charitable organization. Our Vision is a cure for cavernous malformation and improved quality of life for those affected. Our Mission is to support and inform those affected by cavernous malformation by connecting patients and families with meaningful resources, including each other. We advocate for our community by raising awareness, engaging stakeholders, driving research, and contributing towards the development of a robust network of medical professionals with knowledge of cavernous malformation across Canada.
Cavernous Malformation (CM) is characterized by closely clustered, abnormally dilated, and leaky capillary caverns that most often occur in the central nervous system parenchyma. CM is also at times referred to as cavernous angioma, hemangioma, or cavernoma.
