Presentations (Individual and Symposia)

Submission Deadline: July 1, 2026

A select number of abstracts will be presented at the Symposium. To submit your proposal for consideration, please read the guidelines below and submit the information via the form below. Alternatively, you may send the required information to admin@cavernousmalformation.ca. If your submission is selected, you will be notified and a request will be made at that time for slides and materials based on the presentation format selected. 

In order to submit your proposal, you will be required to provide the following:

  1. Your contact name

  2. Affiliation/Institution/Organization name

  3. Email address

  4. Title of the submission

  5. Desired presentation format (list top 3 preferred formats):

    • Oral with No Poster, 20 or 30 minutes (discussion time allocated outside that time)​

    • Oral with Poster, 20 minutes

    • Brag n' Steal Oral with No Poster, 15 minutes max and 8 slides max

    • Poster Session Only - display of poster at designated poster session with informal discussion with attendees that inquire/stop by your display

Submission Guidelines

For Oral and/or Poster Presentations

Provide a structured abstract that includes background, methodology, results (if applicable) and conclusion (or next steps for study updates). Maximum 3000 characters. ​

  • Background: This section should briefly describe relevant background information and the purpose of the study.

  • Methods: This section should briefly describe what research was done, how it was completed and who was involved. 

  • Results: This section should describe what findings resulted from the study with relevant details (i.e., statistics) as appropriate. 

  • Conclusion: This section should briefly summarize the implications of the results and why it is important. 

Must also include the name(s), affiliation/institution name(s) and email address(es) for each of the corresponding authors and name of the presenting author. 

The submitting author will be asked to confirm:

  • that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission as submitted. 

  • that all authors consent to publication of the submitted abstract Title related to the Cavernous Malformation Clinical and Scientific Symposium (i.e., on the website, program materials, etc.) and the full abstract poster information if submitting for a poster session. 

The submitting author will be asked the following questions:

  • have you read the submission guidelines?

  • has the material been presented at another national or international symposium or similar event in the past? If so, provide details. 

  • what is the current position of the presenting author?

For Brag n' Steal Quickfire

Please describe why you or your team should be selected to present at the Brag n' Steal session (maximum 3000 characters). 

  • Include details of a specific toolkit, policy, process, assessment, or clinical/research innovation or improvement that has positively impacted outcomes at your site, clinic, etc. 

  • Explain how this approach is effective, adaptable, and ready to be shared with other teams, and how it could benefit attendees by being implemented at their own sites. What did it enhance? How did it create effective change? Who benefits?

  • What makes your innovation worth "bragging" about, and why should others "steal" it to implement?

  •  

Please note, presenters or poster authors must be registered Symposium participants and all abstracts must be submitted and presented in English, with an option to be bilingual (French/English).
